The the Information Center of the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Bulgaria which has been built with the assistance of the Program for the Development of the Judicial System (PDJS) under a project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) opens on 9 September 2008.
The project of the PDJS and USAID with the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Bulgaria also includes the creation of a Concept Paper on Information Centers in the Prosecutor's Office. The Concept Paper has been developed by a working group of prosecutors and PDJS representatives. Its purpose is to provide a unified model of such centers in the prosecutor's offices as part of the implementation of one of the priorities of the 2007 – 2009 Development Strategy of the Prosecutor's Office – openness and transparency.
The Concept Paper contains specific practical ideas and documents which will be useful to the prosecutor's offices and staff working on the creation of information centers or expanding the services provided by them. The experience of the courts in the creation of such a Concept Paper has been used in its development as well as best practices from other countries.
