The closing conference on the project "The system of complaints and signals against judicial misconduct in the courts – review of the current situation and analysis of best practices in Europe" funded by the MATRA/KAP Programme of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands was held on 20 October 2009 in the Conference Room of the Supreme Judicial Council.
The project has been implemented with the participation of representatives of the Supreme Judicial Council and the Inspectorate with the Supreme Judicial Council, judges and administrative heads. The analyses and recommendations prepared by the working group concerning the possibilities the legislation offers the members of the public to react against judicial misconduct in the courts were presented during the conference. There was also be a discussion about the need for adopting legislation protecting the citizens who have filed complaints
The guests of the conference included the Ambassador to Bulgaria of the Kingdom of the Netherlands H.E. Karel van Kesteren, representatives of the Supreme Judicial Council, the Inspectorate with the Supreme Judicial Council, judges and administrative heads, representatives of civil and professional organizations, the media.
